WMS and Abri join forces to support St Peters Community Centre in Yeovil!

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the communities in which we work we recently joined forces with Sophie from Abri making a contribution to support Marie and her brilliant team at St Peters Community Centre in Yeovil!

Marie manages amongst other things the weekly "community pantry" where Abri customers and community members can get a weekly shop, with the team making available an amazing 127,000 meals last year for those most in need.

Abri and St Peters have worked closely together for many years and also provide regular signposting provision, cooking classes, training sessions, a library and a variety of community-based initiatives and activities making St Peters the fantastic Community Centre it is today!

Pictured here are Marie (St Peters Community Centre Manager) Steve (WMS Client Services Manager) and Sophie (Abri Community Development Officer), well done Marie and Sophie for your brilliant work!"

WMS Social Value Partnering

Having recently completed refurbishment works at Coombefield Veterinary Practice WMS and our client continued to deliver on our Social Value Partnership initiative, this time for Ferne Animal Sanctuary.

Ferne Animal Sanctuary rescue rehabilitate and rehome or provide a home for life for domestic and farm animals, every year they rehome approx. 250 dogs/cats and have 300 resident animals at the sanctuary.

This year has been an extremely busy one for the sanctuary who launched an urgent appeal to help them through an unprecedented financial downturn knowing the winter will bring even more challenges.

We are proud to offer a little help to all the team at Ferne Animal Sanctuary as they continue the good work they have been doing since 1939!

WMS and Harbour Community

Its that time of year where we start thinking of those people a little less fortunate than ourselves and with this in mind WMS are thrilled to have contributed to various food bank's located in each of the 4 areas we serve.

These wonderful people do such a fantastic job all year round and have time for everyone, irrespective of their circumstances.

Pictured here is Andrew who helps run the Harbour in Bideford. Andrew and the Harbour team have helped over 1000 disadvantaged, homeless and people in need in Bideford and the surrounding area for over 17 years.

Supplying a warm welcome, advice, shelter, clean clothes and hot food the Harbour seek to relieve the needs of people who feel socially excluded and assist them in integrating back in to society.

Thank you The Harbour and we hope our contribution helps a little in you delivering more of your fantastic work!

WMS Somerset BBQ

Hot on the heels of the fantastically supported WMS Cornwall and North Devon Friday afternoon BBQ's it was Somerset's turn to fire up the grill and cook up something extra special for the guys, and boy did our very own 3 Michelin stars chef Richard Cole deliver the goods!

Taking on the role a little too seriously, Richard's finely prepared bangers and burgers were the order of the day and were washed down with a few beers to wet the whistle!

Talking of "bangers" when the BBQ finally drew to a close the team made their way in to town with Aiden losing the bet and wearing the mascara (see pic - don't ask!)

Well done Richard, Chris, Jane and and all the team for yet another great event, WMS = Winning together!
